I have been blessed to be a part of Rosa Parks HS, as founder and administrator, since 1993. I have been surrounded by the inspiration of my students for all of those years and they have shaped who I was, who I am and who I hope to become.
Take the time to visit and be changed…it’s happening every day at Rosa Parks High School.

I grew up in Southern California, and since moving to Rochester nearly four years ago I’ve been in awe of what a beautiful state this is. In 1985, I earned a degree in accounting from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and I worked in the industry for 12 years. Once I had children, I became a stay-at-home mom, and for the past 13 years I’ve homeschooled my kids, which was very challenging and incredibly rewarding. Now that my youngest is starting college in the fall, I’m very excited to begin working with the outstanding faculty at Rosa Parks and, especially, getting the know the students who grace our halls. In such a short time, I’ve met many Rosa Parks' students and they’ve all been gracious and welcoming. I’m honored to be a part of this wonderful school community.

I am excited to be starting my 18th year at Rosa Parks! I came to Rosa Parks (formerly ROC) in 1999 to work with students with special needs. We have grown considerably since I started here ~ and have wonderful staff and students. We are welcoming great new staff this year and are thrilled to be a TEACHER-POWERED school. Rosa Parks celebrates an environment in which all students are welcome and in which all students can succeed!
When I’m not at Rosa Parks, I like to hang out with my kids, grandkids and dogs, watch sports and have a camper on the Mississippi River.

Hello all. I’ve been working at Rosa Parks (ROC) as a Special Education Paraprofessional since 2015. I received my Associates Degree from RCTC in Human Services Specialist in 2015. I enjoy being able to help in all areas of education including in the classroom and one on one.

When I’m not at my Rosa Parks home, I enjoy time with my family and friends. I’ve been with my high school sweetheart/husband since 1995. We have 4 children together and “adopt” many more. We love exploring the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, playing games and so much more.

I’m excited to be working with such an Amazing crew and kiddos!

I am in my 19th year teaching at Rosa Parks Charter High School. Before my life as a teacher I studied natural resource management at UW - Stevens Point with the hope of becoming a park ranger. During summers and after college I spent several years working with the US Forest Service, the National Park Service, as well as the Minnesota and Wisconsin Departments of Natural Resources.

During this time I was a "digger" and then a lead sawyer on a Hotshot Crew (wildland firefighter), a law enforcement and general park ranger. It was not until I started working as an interpretive ranger (aka a naturalist), that I found my true calling as an educator. During my time as a ranger/firefighter I was fortunate to live and work in many beautiful places......the redwoods of California, the Big Cypress Swamp of florida, the mountains and wide open spaces of Montana......and nearly every western state during my time as a firefighter.

These were all great experiences, but I realized at some point that I would have to pursue something else if I wanted a steady job and a place to call home. At that point I decided to go back to college to get another degree in life science teaching. Two years later I was out in my first teaching job in Hill City, MN. The next year I decided to move closer to my parents' home and everything fell into place when I landed a job at ROC (now Rosa Parks!) in August of 1999.

I currently live in Rochester with my wife, Jodi, and my children Ayla and Gavin. My career and recreational passions regularly overlap and include photography, hiking, backpacking, fishing, hunting, climbing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, running, sprint triathlons, gardening, wild foods and traveling.

It is with great enthusiasm that I start my first year at Rosa Parks. I started my journey in formal education six years ago as a student teacher at Rochester Off Campus High School. At the completion of my student teaching it was time to spread my wings and leave the great team at ROC. For the last four years I have been a teacher/ advisor at Project Based Charter Schools in northern Mn. Prior to becoming a formal educator I spent many years as an Outdoor Educator, Wilderness Guide and instructor for youth Wilderness Therapy programs throughout the Rocky Mountain West, Alaska and Minnesota. As a Social Studies teacher I am passionate about helping students develop a worldview of equality and empathy for all as well as an optimism for the future. With deep roots in Experiential Education I encourage learners to broaden perspectives by listening to different ideas and embracing opportunities for growth academically and personally.

Hi. I am excited to say that I have been at Rosa Parks, formerly ROC, since January of 2002. I began as a special education paraprofessional, moved to administrative coordinator and as of September 2016, I am the school social worker.

When I am not at work I am hanging out with my husband and two boys, Peyton & Reid. My family is very important to me...both my family at home and my family at Rosa Parks. I couldn't ask for more!

Amy Mullen

Hello,
My name is Amy Mullen. This is my third year at Rosa Parks CHS as the Language Arts teacher, and I absolutely love it. I can't imagine being anywhere else. I live near Winona, MN, and although the drive is long, it is absolutely worth it. I have 2 children at home and an assortment of animals. One of those animals is a rabbit, named Keat, who comes to class with me. Although he is named after my favorite poet, he does not share my love for literature. Instead, he loves snuggling in the hoodies of students and eating their leftover carrots from lunch.
Thank you for stopping by and reading our page. We hope to see you around the school in the future!

Linda Kincaid

I originally come from the Chicago area and have taught in Special Education there and in the state of Indiana. I have specialized in transition and individualized instruction. My focus, while teaching at the high school level, was to teach students the skills they needed to become successful, independent adults. I have a Masters Degree, in addition to 90 graduate semester hours, in the field of education. I believe in education centering around the student's strengths and interests . I look forward to continue working with this same philosophy at Rosa Parks High School.
